Our experience shows that 95% of customers, even those with large and high budgets, struggle in some form with the evolution of their existing IT infrastructure. The majority of purchases are usually aimed at satisfying specific situations. As a result, the systems are inhomogeneous, have a lot of unique characteristics and do not fit well with the existing or the environments to be implemented in the future.

 

We are often faced with the fact that software manufacturing companies propose some kind of infrastructure solution, even though they usually do not have enough experience in this area. Yet they firmly claim that their software only runs problem-free in the given environment of the given manufacturer. In this way, it can happen that, on the advice and sometimes pressure of the developers of the given application, completely independent, island systems are installed in the client otherwise homogeneous system instead of implementing their applications on the existing homogeneous infrastructure.
 

According to our experience, a well-written program runs the same way on any Brand manufacturer machine, not to mention that if all of this is installed in a virtual environment, we can forget about the Brand connection. Of course, this does not mean that we do not continue to recommend some kind of professional hardware solution under professional software such as SAP, Oracle, MS SQL. The point is that the infrastructure should not be selected by the programmers, but by the hardware specialists who are skilled in it, based on the parameters defined by the programmers.

 

To illustrate with a simple example: even when building a new house, the interior designer does not determine what kind of slab structure or foundation is needed for the building to stand safely even after tens of years, but the designer.

 

Of course, the designer prepares the static calculations based on the needs of the interior designer, but the type of concrete used during construction is never decided by the interior designer or the customer.

 

This is how we think about IT infrastructure planning as well. The customer tells us what he wants, the programmers translate the customer request into code, and we design the most optimal Infrastructure, based on the customer financial possibilities, where performance, security, economy, fault tolerance and high availability are in the right balance.
